    The McDermott Center for Human Growth and Development/Center for Human Genetics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas (www.utsouthwestern.edu) solicits applications for a postdoctoral researcher position in Statistical Genetics & Genomics and Bioinformatics.

    The lab focuses on methodological development of statistical genetics & genomics, bioinformatics, and collaborates with biological investigators on real data projects toward the goal of uncovering the genetic bases of human complex traits. This position involves developing and applying statistical and computational methods for analysis of high-throughput genetic and genomic data, including sequencing-based association studies, integrative analysis of genetic and genomic data, RNA-seq analysis, ChIP-seq analysis. We seek an individual with strong statistical and computing backgrounds. Experience with statistical and computational approaches for big data, statistical genetics and genomics is preferred but not required. The work will involve both methodological research and collaboration with researchers.

    Successful applicants should have a strong background in statistics, biostatistics, bioinformatics, genetic epidemiology, or population genetics, and should hold a Ph.D. Programming skill in R is required and skills in other languages are desired.
