    The 38th Quality and Productivity Research Conference (QPRC) will be hosted by San Francisco State University (SFSU) in San Francisco, California, from June 14 to June 16, 2022, preceded by a traditional one-day course on June 13. The theme of this year's conference is "Data, Statistics, and Responsibility", and the conference is jointly hosted by organizers from SFSU, University of San Francisco and Google. Attendees may participate either in-person or online.

    The conference aims to promote the highest level of scientific integrity, reproducibility, public accountability, and social responsibility in handling big, multidimensional structured, and unstructured data. It will include a comprehensive discussion of cutting-edge modern methodologies in all aspects of Data Science and Statistics, the current progress made in such computer-intensive fields as stream data mining, machine learning, functional data analysis, image reconstruction, facial recognition. Participating statisticians, data scientists, quantitative analysts, representatives of different branches of industry and government will exchange novel ideas and experience in working with modern big data to discover knowledge and apply it to numerous fields, as well as our responsibility of contributing our skills and knowledge in data science and statistics to serve people in their communities and around the world.

    The conference will honor Dr. Bin Yu, the Chancellor's Distinguished Professor in the Department of Statistics and the Department of Electrical Engineering & Computer Sciences at the University of California, Berkeley, and the former president of the Institute of Mathematical Statistics.

    Call for contributed talks and posters

    The conference is currently soliciting proposals for contributed talks (submission deadline April 1, 2022) and posters (submission deadline April 15, 2022). Find details at https://qprc2022.com/submissions

    Student support

    Student funding for registration and travel stipends are available thanks to generous NSF support. We are inviting students to submit their application for student funding through https://qprc2022.com/students. Application deadline is April 1, 2022.

    In conjunction, the Quality and Productivity Section announces the 2022 Mary G. and Joseph Natrella Scholarship, which supports student participation in the Quality and Productivity Research Conference (QPRC).
