The Department of Statistical Science at SMU has two assistant professor positions open for Fall 2017. We are especially interested in students with a background in time series, statistical learning, or a biostatistics. The department began a joint PhD program in Biostatistics with UT Southwestern 3 years ago. Faculty who could direct students in both our PhD in statistics and PhD in biostatistics programs would be well suited. The department also offers a Master of Applied Statistics and Data Analytics (MASDA) and a Master of Science in Data Science (MSDS). Furthermore, we have over fifty majors and minors that we serve.
The cosing date is listed as November 15 on our ad, but we will continue to receive and review applications until January 1, 2017, or until both positions are filled. We are also interested in encouraging applications from candidates that belong to groups that are underrepresented on our faculty.
