    Nevada Institute of Personalized Medicine, University of Nevada, Las Vegas

    A postdoctoral position is available immediately at Nevada Institute of Personalized Medicine (NIPM), University of Nevada, Las Vegas. The mission of NIPM is working to improve individual and systemic health care through translational clinical scientific research, education and workforce training, commercialization of technologies, and job creation. Dr. Wu's research areas will combine biostatistics, bioinformatics, genomics, and epidemiology with medical and health informatics to forward our mission. The candidate will receive training in specific areas of research with the aim of progressing towards an independent career.     The Postdoctoral Fellow will:

    Play a key role in the development of research plans, execution, and analysis of projects involving "big data" including electronic medical records, GWAS data, and Federal-funded large cross-sectional data and cohort data. 

    Have the opportunity to develop or enhance skills in statistical modeling, GWAS data imputation, and analysis, and big-data analysis related to personalized medicine in a collaborative medical research setting.

    Qualifications

    A minimum of a Doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D.) is required in biostatistics, statistics, computer sciences or a relevant discipline.

    Knowledge and experience in SAS programming, data analysis, and statistical modeling are required.

    A background in public health, medicine, biology or a related area of health will be highly preferred.

    Experience using SAS-callable SUDAAN is preferred.

    Experience with programming in C++, Java, R, Python, and other scripting languages is desirable but not required.

    The successful candidate will have good communication and organizational skills and proven ability to work within a team environment.
