Dear All,
Let me both introduce Amy Nussbaum as ASA's inaugural science policy fellow and make you aware of possible developments on the Senate floor regarding the bill that funds the U.S. Census Bureau, the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies (CJS) appropriations bill.
Amy started at the ASA on May 31 after finishing her PhD in statistics at SMU in December and spending the spring semester teaching. We're thrilled to have her as part of the ASA team. You can read more about Amy in the July Amstat News.
Amy updates ASA members on possible amendments undermining the decennial census in her blog entry, "Census Bureau Stakeholders Prepare for Funding Deliberations". (http://community.amstat.org/blogs/amy-nussbaum/2016/06/20/census-bureau-stakeholders-prepare-for-census-funding-deliberations) Please have a look at her blog entry and contact your Senators.
Best,
Steve
