Please join us for a free webinar on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 from noon to 1:30 Eastern time on ASA’s Revised Guidelines for the Ethical Practice of Statistics.

ASA last adopted guidelines for the ethical practice of statistics in 1999. The Committee on Professional Ethics (CoPE) has drafted a revised set of guidelines which it will submit in March to the ASA Board for approval.

This web-based seminar, sponsored by CoPE and the Section for Statistical Programmers and Analysts, will include the history of the ASA guidelines, goals of the revision, an open discussion of the guidelines, case studies and other resources.

The Webinar will allow participants the opportunity to understand the thinking behind the proposed guidelines, give an extended opportunity to ask questions and importantly to express, in advance of the formal adoption, any concerns or issues they or their organizations may have.

Presenters include members of CoPE: Howard Hogan, Michael Hawes, Pandu Kulkarni, and Marcia Levenstein.

You can register at http://www.amstat.org/education/weblectures/index.cfm. The webinar is free to anyone who would like to attend, but you must register by Tuesday, February 2nd at noon Eastern time to receive the access information.

If you have questions about the Webinar, please feel free to contact Howard Hogan, Chair of CoPE, at howard.hogan@gmail.com.
