As a gay member of the WSS, I checked my August 15 edition of "Significance" for "homocides" with some concern! I thought at first that this might have been reported in the article "Sex-related Statistics", but finally found it in the "In Brief" section! ;-)

Perhaps you need to make your points about disparities to our own editors of Significance, the magazine ASA and RSS put out as for members of ASA. In the August 2015 issue, there is a piece about the homocides in Los Angeles county and racial disparities as judged by relative rates of homocides. I do believe there is a problem in Los Angeles County, and I have some guesses why this disparity might exist, but the analysis done suffers from all the problems typical of many current disparity studies.
