    Greetings all,

For those attending JSM in Seattle this year, please download and install the JSM 2015 app for your mobile device(s).  Direct links are available via www.amstat.org/jsmapp, or you can search either the App Store or Google Play for "JSM 2015".  Note that the website address also permits you to access the app through a web-based html5 version if for some reason you are unable to use the app directly.

By logging in with the email address used in your JSM 2015 registration, you can even access and modify the personalized "My program" available through the online program of JSM 2015.  The app provides additional functionality, such as a "Map it" button for each activity that pulls up a floor map containing the location of the activity in question.  Furthermore, several Sections are using a survey feature within the app to conduct voting for various "best contributed paper" awards.

If you are attending a session that incorporates such voting, be sure to pull up the session within the app, and then pull up each individual presentation.  In each presentation will be a "Surveys" button.  Click on it, and you will be given the opportunity to select one of five values (poor, below average, average, above average, or one of the best) for each of five separate categories (statistical contribution, organization of presentation, verbal delivery, visuals used, and overall presentation).  Please give your feedback for each speaker so we can accurately assess the quality of the various speakers.

The voting feature will be present in sessions whose main sponsor is one of the following Sections:

    Biopharmaceutical Section

    Physical and Engineering Sciences Section

Section on Medical Devices and Diagnostics

    Statistical Computing Section

    Statistical Consulting Section

    Statistical Education Section

    Statistical Graphics Section

    Statistical Programmers and Analysts Section

If you attend a session sponsored by one of these Sections, please take the time to use the app to give feedback.  Thanks.

    Regards,

    Ted
