I am engaged in a meta-analysis of published literature. One of the outcomes of interest comes from a survival analysis, but many of the publications give only the figure (no data values). Can anyone recommend graphical extraction software with which they have had positive experience?

DigitizeIt - Graph Digitizer Software. Digitize graphs, charts and math data

digitizeIt works very well, in particular for survival curves.  You will certainly need more information for calculation of CI, estimation of amount of censored data etc. I am preparing a paper on this issue.

In some projects that I worked on a few years ago, one of the research assistants used a digitized called Engage (I think I have the name right).  It seemed to have good accuracy.

Ungraph is costly but with some demonstrated reliability and validity in Shadish et al 2009.

I'm pretty sure I've used engauge, too.  Digitizing data from old plots using ‘digitize’ points to an R package that I haven't tried yet and to several other alternatives.

I have used WebPlotDigitizer many times with good results, though not for survival curves.
