    Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Inc. seeks a Supervisor, Initial Distribution for the Sales Planning & Analysis department. Position will work closely with Key Account Managers and VMI Client Managers, and is accountable primarily in the creation of initial distributions for VMI customers utilizing statistical methods. This role also maintains several Initial Distributions Wizard (IDW) and Inventory Optimization Central Repository database elements to support the system, and is tasked with continuous improvement in data quality and functionality. In addition, this position is assigned, on a secondary basis, to provide assistance with Supply Chain Analytics support. Lastly, this role provides ad-hoc analysis as request by management.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Create the initial store level distributions for VMI customers. Apply statistical methods to determine the initial store-level distribution for VMI customers. Select Comp. Titles that represent a sufficient sampling to support analysis. Develop and create new store level initial distributions concept and methodologies. Continually monitor accuracy of distributions assigned and diagnose trends and patterns to determine root case and suggest/implement corrective action. Ability to program/modify code and diagnose/resolve syntax errors using SAS software. Intermediate SAS skill level preferred. Perform statistical analyses to provide insights and recommendations that help drive the maximum sale and minimize the return cost. Maintain several proprietary databases and ensure quality/functionality improvement. Maintain VMI customer data within 8 Initial Distributions Wizard (IDW) databases. Update VMI accounts store trait information. Process VMI accounts Temp/relocation store lists. Analyze store volume/sell-through performance to determine proper initial distribution quantities. Maintain Inventory Optimization Central Repository database to analyze initial distribution trends and generate daily tracking reports. Utilize the Central Repository database to analyze initial distribution trends. Create a daily snap shot of initial distribution workload for the Inventory Optimization dept. Determine VMI accounts distributions due dates. Process incoming initial distributions request form (DRF). Provide assistance with Supply Chain Planning. Assist with the monthly scorecard demand plan performance and other tasks on and as needed basis. Ad hoc analysis as needed.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS Undergraduate degree in Statistics required. Graduate degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Business Operation Research, and/or Finance preferred. SQL certification preferred. SAS certification preferred. Must have applied knowledge of statistical methods to analyze and model data, including but not limited to correlations, regressions, cluster analysis, and significance testing. Must be able to take complex concepts and analyses and explain them to others outside of the team in simple, easy to follow terms. Demonstrated ability to provide creative solutions appropriate for fast changing business environment. Minimum 3 years of experience accessing, compiling, and analyzing large volumes of data into concise and precise information utilizing various tools/databases. Minimum 3-5 years in modeling / analytics / mathematics / statistics. Computer Skills: Proficiency with Word, Excel, Access and working knowledge of SAS. Experience with Business Objects, PowerPoint and/or RetailLink a plus. Understanding of statistical concepts and the ability to perform statistical analysis. Demonstrated experience extracting and segmenting data to facilitate analysis. Demonstrated ability to analyze volumes of data to determine business implications and make actionable recommendations. Clearly articulated understanding of retail principles and retail operations. Self-motivated, detail oriented and has ability to work with limited supervision in a fast-paced, small-team environment. Ability to present findings confidently to senior management and to customers. Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written. Must have the ability to communication effectively and tactfully with all levels of personnel. Must have the ability to pay close attention to detail and understand written and oral instruction. Must have the ability to organize and schedule work effectively. Must have the ability to work well under time constraints. Must have the ability to meet daily and weekly deadlines. Ability to travel occasionally.
