Not sure whether you are looking for theoretical or applied or using a particular package, but SAS's book Analysis of Observation Health Care Data Using SAS begins by discussing propensity score matching.  Not particularly deep but will get you started if you are using SAS.

The other applied text is Propensity Score Analysis by Guo and Fraser. If focuses on SAS and R

The latest edition of the Hosmer and Lemeshow Applied Logistic Regression book (201x) has a nice description of PS analysis with discussion of matching procedures. ------------------------------------------- C. Dayton, UMd, Emeritus -------------------------------------------

The book by Guo and Fraser is excellent and there is another recent one by William Holmes entitled Using Propensity Scores in Quasi-Experimental Designs that's interesting (if slightly eccentric).
