The Center for Evidence-based Medicine invites applications for a post-doctoral level candidate to work under the direction of Dr. Christopher Schmid in a team environment. The successful applicant will participate in Patient-Centered Outcomes and Comparative Effectiveness Research (PCOR/CER) via clinical research projects, including research in personalized medicine. Candidates must have a doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics, or related field. Successful candidates will have experience and expertise in applied research and preferably in meta analysis.
This is a two-year appointment, with possible extension for a third year.
The selected candidate will participate in an interdisciplinary training opportunity that aims to prepare scholars to become successful independent investigators in patient-centered outcomes research using comparative effectiveness methods. This opportunity is funded by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) Institutional Mentored Career Development Program (K12). The successful candidate should be prepared to produce original research and develop a research funding proposal in CER/PCOR suitable for submission to PCOR, AHRQ, or NIH by the end of their term.
In addition to a salaried appointment in the Department of Biostatistics at Brown’s School of Public Health, scholars receive a research development fund of $25,000 per year in the program.
The initial appointment will begin August 1, 2017.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold a Ph.D, Sc.D., or equivalent doctoral degree at the time of appointment. Applicants must be U.S. Citizens, non-citizen nationals, or individuals lawfully admitted for permanent residence.
