My graduating Master of Statistics students are asking me what the job outlook is for masters-level statisticians. These students are in an interdepartmental MStat program with a common core of intermediate statistical theory and tracks in biostatistics, econometrics, educational psychology, mathematics, and sociology. Some are entry-level, and others are mature career professionals coming back to school.
Where do you think there will be job growth for Masters-level statisticians? What areas do you think have peaked or gotten overpopulated? What are your recommendations for them?
