It's time for our last Ask Me Anything event before the December break! Geert Molenberghs will join us in the Young Professionals discussion group on November 20th. If you're interested in biostatistics and biometrics, what working as an editor is like, or statistics as an international discipline and community, bring your questions! If you can't attend the AMA live, you can submit questions ahead of time via our contact form.

pic045.jpgGeert Molenberghs is Professor of Biostatistics at the Universities of Hasselt and Leuven in Belgium, Europe. He received the B.S. degree in mathematics (1988) and a Ph.D. in biostatistics (1993) from the University of Antwerp (Belgium). Dr. Molenberghs published methodological work, including books, on surrogate markers in clinical trials, categorical data, longitudinal data analysis, and on the analysis of non-response in clinical and epidemiological studies. He served as Joint Editor of  Applied Statistics, Co-editor of Biometrics, Co-editor of Biostatistics, Series Editor of Wiley Probability & Statistics, and Wiley StatsRef.  He was President of the International Biometric Society. He was elected Fellow of the American Statistical Association, and elected member of the International Statistical Institute. He received the Guy Medal in Bronze from the Royal Statistical Society.  He has held visiting positions at the Harvard School of Public Health (Boston, MA). He is founding director of the Center for Statistics at Hasselt University and currently the director of the Interuniversity Institute for Biostatistics and statistical Bioinformatics, I-BioStat, a joint initiative of the Hasselt and Leuven universities.
