Hello, all!

Wow! Our second AMA, with 2016 ASA president Jessica Utts, was an enormous success! Thank you to everyone who contributed questions, including Will Eagan, Jacquelyn Neal, Murat Özel, Elyas Mercado, Andrew Ekstrom, and Beth Ziniti. You all contributed great questions, and President Utts let me know she enjoyed answering them all. (If you're a student or early-career member, you can see the full AMA here.)

Long_Dr.%20Cynthia.jpgIn December, Dr. Cynthia Long, the ASA's board representative on the Council of Sections, will join us as our AMA guest. The Council of Sections works to support the goals and interests of the ASA's more than 25 sections, which cover interests that run all the way from Biometrics to Genomics and Genetics.

So if you've ever had questions about what sections are, what they can offer you, and how they run, this would be a great opportunity!

The AMA will take place on Young Professionals, Wednesday, December 7th, from 2-3pm EST. At 2, Dr. Long will make her introduction post. To ask a question, just respond to her introduction post! (Questions will be moderated; remember to check our our Code of Conduct before submitting a question. When writing your questions, remember that students and early-career members who don't ask questions themselves may still be reading the answers! So don't be worried if you have a very general question--someone in the 'audience' may have it, too!)

Alternatively, submit your question ahead of time using our Contact Us form <http://community.amstat.org/contactus>.

Looking forward to seeing your questions on December 7th!

- Lara

P.S. (Never heard of an AMA? It stands for “Ask Me Anything.” An AMA is a chance to ask an invited guest your most pressing questions in [pseudo-]real time on an online forum.)
