    Dear Colleagues & Educators,

To honor Women's Month in March, Data Umbrella has organized a series of tutorials in data science topics.  These are free to attend and open to all.

    • March   1: Geospatial Data & Maps with Python
      • Maps are powerful tools that we use every day, and Python is well-equipped to handle geospatial data, perform analysis & create insightful maps. Learn common mapping libraries, data considerations & use cases
    • March 12: Creating a Python Plotly Dashboard
      • Learn to use pandas, plotly & Dash to create a dashboard w/interactive visualizations on a housing dataset.
      • turn exploratory code into reusable functions.
      • explore layout options
      • generate & test a local dashboard
    • March 15: Arrays, Linked Lists and Graphs
      • Linked lists (LL) provide power & efficiency where arrays cannot (element insertion and the pre-allocation of memory); LL can reduce Big O complexity and solve a variety of problems
    • March 22: Setting up a Jekyll Blog
      • Jekyll is a static site generator that can be used to create a custom website simply, efficiently & for free
      • Learn to install a basic theme, add customizations, and host it via GitHub Pages.
    • March 29: Intro to Holoviz
      • Learn how to use HoloViz tools to visualize tabular and array data in Python.
      • Quickly inspect your data using `hvplot`.
      • Aggregate large data to the pixel level using `datashader`
      • Produce dashboards that allow others to easily view your outputs
