The ASA Section on Statistics in Epidemiology would like to announce the availability of a limited number of travel awards of $1000 for SIE members to travel to Seattle, Washington to attend the Annual Conference for the Society for Epidemiologic Research (SER).
This year SER will be celebrating their 50th Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington, June 20-23, 2017. Both members and non-members of the Society are invited to submit abstracts for inclusion in the meeting either through Oral or Poster Presentations. This travel award is designed to encourage statisticians who would not generally attend an epidemiology conference to become more personally involved in the epidemiology community. To apply for the SIE travel award please submit your CV and a brief (limit 1 page) summary of your experience as a statistician, your interest in attending an epidemiology conference, and how attending the SER conference will help you continue to bring statisticians and epidemiologists in closer collaboration. All SIE travel award recipients will be expected to submit an abstract to the SER conference and attend a dinner with other travel award recipients during the conference in order to accept the travel award. Travel award recipients will be notified by January 10, 2017.
