Statistics and Data Science in Imaging, a new journal of the ASA, together with the American Statistical Association (ASA) Advisory Committee on Forensic Science and the ASA Forensic Science Interest Group, invites submissions to a peer-reviewed special issue on "Statistical Forensics in Imaging" to highlight new work in statistics and forensics using image data.

"Image data" is broadly construed, including pattern and trace evidence, topological scans and profiles including but not limited to those that arise from latent prints, toolmarks and firearms, handwriting, blood spatter, as well as images with associated metadata such as kinematics. We welcome both methodological contributions and data-driven applications, as well as discussions of the statistical challenges of working with forensic images.

    The Special Issue editors are:

Alicia Carriquiry, Department of Statistics, Iowa State University
Karen Kafadar, Department of Statistics, University of Virginia
Liansheng Tang, Department of Statistics, University of Central Florida
Susan Vanderplas, Department of Statistics, University of Nebraska-Lincoln

SDSI publications currently have no APCs (article publishing charges).
