Dear Colleagues,
In collaboration with the National Academies' Mathematical Sciences Education Board (MSEB), we are hosting a listening session on Wednesday, September 23 at 1:00 p.m. ET. This is an opportunity to share the statistics education community's priorities with the board.
MSEB provides guidance at the national level and works to spark dialogue among researchers and educators by helping to coordinate efforts and produce evidence-based recommendations for improving mathematics and statistics education from pre-K through postsecondary levels. MSEB studies offer timely, practical advice to state and local school systems, agencies, and academic institutions on complex topics and long-term needs in mathematics and statistics education.
Statistics is central to how students engage with data, evidence, and quantitative reasoning, and statistics education has its own distinct questions, challenges, and opportunities. This session is a chance to make sure MSEB's work reflects the perspective and priorities of the statistics education community.
The co-chairs of MSEB will share a brief overview of the board's current priorities and activities, then open the floor for your questions, ideas, and concerns. Your input will help inform how MSEB engages with the statistics education community going forward.
We hope you'll join us and help ensure statistics education is well represented in this important national conversation. Please share this invitation with your colleagues.
Date: Wednesday, September 23
Time: 1:00 p.m. ET

Best regards,
Ron
