The Mount Sinai Tisch Cancer Center Biostatistics Core and the Statistical Data and Analysis Center for the AIDS Malignancy Consortium are seeking a collaborative Ph.D. Biostatistician to join our academic research faculty.
Position Overview
This position centers primarily on driving the collaborative and operational priorities of our core facilities. The successful candidate will provide high-level methodological leadership, statistical collaboration, and data science infrastructure support for oncological clinical trials, translational research studies, and complex epidemiological analyses. Core service, protocol design, protocol review, and collaborative grant support take primary precedence, offering a vibrant environment for methodologists passionate about direct impact on cancer research.
Key Responsibilities
- Core Collaboration & Design: Serve as primary statistical lead for clinical and translational investigators, driving study design, sample size calculations, and protocol development for cancer and HIV-malignancy trials.
- Data Analysis & Oversight: Oversee complex statistical analyses for clinical trials, longitudinal cohorts, and high-throughput data streams, ensuring rigorous methodological compliance.
- Grant & Manuscript Contribution: Collaborate as co-investigator on peer-reviewed grant applications (e.g., NIH/NCI mechanisms) and co-author methodology and clinical manuscripts.
- Statistical Oversight for Protocol Review and Reporting: Serve on the Protocol Review and Monitoring Committee (PRMC) and Data Safety Monitoring Committee (DSMC) to prepare and present critique.
- Infrastructure Leadership: Contribute to the operational growth and efficiency of the Tisch Cancer Center Biostatistics Core and the AIDS Malignancy Consortium data operations.
Qualifications
- Ph.D. in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a closely related quantitative field.
- Demonstrated expertise in clinical trial design, survival analysis, generalized linear models, and longitudinal data analysis.
- Strong programming proficiency in R, SAS, or Python.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with a proven track record of effective collaboration with clinical investigators, oncologists, and translational scientists.
