    Dear all

We at Statistical Computing and Graphics sections will need peer reviewers for our 2026-2027 awards season:

    (i) Student Paper Awards (SPA)

(ii) John Chambers Software Award  (JCSA)

    Requirements

Preference will be given to Statistical Computing and Graphics sections members. If you are not a SC&G member and wish to volunteer, be sure to add SC&G section membership to your ASA profile.

Please repond to me by email with the following:

    1. Whether you wish to referee for one or both of the above award categories.

    2. Agree to referee atleast 2 SPAs and/or up to 2 JCSA submissions.

    3. Refereeing will include testing any code/software submissions to validate claims made in the paper/software submission.

    4. Preference for topics - e.g. numerical analysis in statistics, optimisation, graphics in multivariate analysis, survival analysis, Python, R etc.

    5. Agree to submit reviews within 3 weeks from date of assignment and certainly before 10 December 2026.

    6. Submit your resume to me by email or include a URL to your webpage where I can find your bio.

    7. Referee returns (on an Excel sheet that I will send to you) should include comments on strengths and weaknesses of each paper/software and a score (1-10, 10 for best) that you have been assigned.
