Please join us for the 7th Statistical Practice in Cancer Conference (SPCC), to be held at the Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa, Florida, Friday morning through Saturday noon, February 12-13, 2027.  Our conference theme is: The Future of Cancer Biostatistics: Foundations to AI?  Our keynote speakers are Colin Begg, Memorial Sloan Kettering, "Reflections on the Field of Medical Statistics After a 50+ Year Career"; Rafael Irizarry, Dana-Farber Cancer Center, "Building a Data Science Department in a Research Institution"; Wendy London, Boston's Children Hospital, "De-mystifying Bayesian adaptive designs for pediatric cancer Phase 1 clinical trials"; and Amylou Dueck, Mayo Clinic, "The Patient's Voice Qu8antified: A Practical Tutorial on Patient-Reported Outcomes".  Panel Discussions will be on: "The Future of Cancer Biostatistics: Foundations to AI?" and "New FDA Guidance on the Use of Bayesian Methods in Clinical Trials".

The goal of this one-and-a-half-day conference is to enhance "best statistical practices" for cancer center biostatisticians. The emphasis is on practical solutions to challenges we often face and opportunities to gain efficiencies in our collaborations.  Contributions are welcomed from any area of statistical practice in cancer, but the use of AI in data science is a particular area of emphasis for the 2027 meeting.

Abstract deadline for the conference is November 30, 2026, and registration by January 11, 2027.  The Program Committee will select some abstracts for talks and others for a poster session.  Registration is free for this in-person meeting.  Travel awards of $250 will be given to the first 5 non-faculty talk/poster presenters accepted by the Program Committee

SPCC Planning Committee members are Leslie Cope (Johns Hopkins), J. Jack Lee (MD Anderson), Ji-Hyun Lee (University of Florida), Katherine Panageas (Memorial Sloan-Kettering), Michael J. Schell (Moffitt Cancer Center), Deo Kumar Srivastava (St. Jude Children's Research Hospital), Heidi Weiss (University of Kentucky), and Vivien Yin (Moffitt Cancer Center).
