The Department of Biostatistics and Data Science in the Division of Public Health Sciences at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina invites applications for faculty positions starting on or after July 1, 2021.  The initial appointment would either be tenure-track or tenured.  Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

    • PhD in biostatistics, statistics, computer science, informatics, data science, or a related field. Candidates with an MD with training and/or expertise in one of these fields are also encouraged to apply although this is not a clinical position; we would explore a joint appointment with another department for active clinicians.
    • All outstanding applicants are encouraged to apply. The department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in the areas of electronic health record and administrative data (including federated data networks such as PCORnet/ACT), informatics, pragmatic clinical trials, wearable device analytics, data coordinating centers, population health management, machine learning, predictive analytics, and other related disciplines.
    • Experience collaborating with medical and public health professionals in a multidisciplinary setting.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

Successful applicants at the level of Associate or Full Professor should have experience obtaining federal funding.  Teaching expectations are minimal, as the position will primarily focus on research; however, prior experience in teaching graduate courses is a plus.

Please see attached announcement for more information or https://www.phs.wakehealth.edu/public/jobDetails.cfm?rid=80. Applicants should send a cover letter, curriculum vitae, research and teaching statements, and contact information for 3 or more references to dbsrecruit@wakehealth.edu.  Priority will be given to applications received by January 4, 2021 but we will continue to review applications until the position is filled.  The department is dedicated to the goal of building a culturally diverse and pluralistic faculty and staff committed to working in a multicultural and diverse environment. We encourage candidates who will contribute to such diversity. EOE/AA.
