The Royal Statistical Society has launched a new data science content platform, Real World Data Science (RWDS), with a call for contributions.
RWDS is online at https://realworlddatascience.net/. Click or tap if you trust this link." data-linkindex="0">https://realworlddatascience.net/. The site was created following a recommendation of the RSS Data Science Task Force. It is being built for data science students, practitioners, leaders and educators as a space to share, learn about and be inspired by real-world uses of data science.
The first version of the site provides an overview of the project and its aims, along with outlines of the different types of content that the editorial team is looking to publish.
Case studies of how data science is applied to problems and challenges in business, public policy and beyond will be a core feature of the platform, as will "explainers" of the ideas, concepts, tools, and methods that make data science projects possible.
RWDS will also play host to exercises and other material to support the training and development of data science skills. Profiles of those working in the field will showcase the range and diversity of career paths and skillsets.
For more information, and to find out how to contribute, visit https://realworlddatascience.net/contributor-docs/call-for-contributions.html. Click or tap if you trust this link." data-linkindex="1">https://realworlddatascience.net/contributor-docs/call-for-contributions.html.
To discuss content ideas, please email the editor, Brian Tarran: b.tarran@rss.org.uk.
