Ph.D or M.S. degree in statistics or equivalent field. Must be a current student or have graduated within the last two years. Preference for statistician with expertise in survey design and analysis or spatial statistics.
Position supports the US EPA National Aquatic Resources Surveys (https://www.epa.gov/national-aquatic-resource-surveys). Successful candidate will participate in the implementation of sample surveys at national and state scales. In addition, will develop methodology for integration of national and state survey data, address issues of non-sampleable sites (non-response) due to inaccessibility, develop procedures for incorporating data from states and other organizations into NARS survey analyses, develop survey selection methods that incorporate existing sites into a survey design, develop methods for estimating aquatic condition at non-monitoring locations including option of small area estimation, enhance the R package spsurvey to incorporate the above methods, and collaborate with states and other organizations on their development and implementation of survey designs and analyses of aquatic resources. Will join group of statisticians and environmental scientists supporting NARS.
