    Posted 01-31-2022 23:17
    Dear ASA members,

The Committee on Women in Statistics is sponsoring another book club series. We collected book recommendations from the first ASA Book Club series, and we hope you'd find interest in joining us again or for the first time this Spring. We will kick off the next Book Club series at the end of February, and each group will meet twice a month. Here's a list you can choose from:

    • Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts(2018) byBrene Brown
    • x + y: A Mathematician's Manifesto for Rethinking Gender(2020) by Eugenia Cheng
    • The Code Breaker:Jennifer Doudna, Gene Editing, and the Future of the Human Race (2021) by Walter Isaacson

If you are interested, please fill out this form: BookClub intake. The sign-up form will be open until Sunday, February 13, 2022. If you have any future recommendations, please add them here: book suggestions

I am looking for volunteers to serve as leaders for discussion groups. The whole series will run for about 3 months, which is around 6 meetings total. The leaders will send reminders for each meeting, make sure the discussion stays on track, and share some prompts. You can indicate your preference in the intake or reply here directly.

    Thank you,

    Eunice
