Hello Everyone,
I am hosting a symposium for The American Chemical Society's Central Regional Meeting on "Data Science in Chemical Research". In past years, and hopefully this one as well, it will be ASA sponsored.
I am looking for people that can discuss in a 20-30 minute session the chemical or chemically related research they have worked on. So, for those of us that do consulting and work with Chemists, Chemical Engineers, Materials Scientists, Biologists, Geologists, etc, the work you did will most likely qualify.
For those of us that teach, if you have a student taking a Design of Experiments class that requires a project, that will most likely qualify too.
The meeting happens this summer, June 7th to 10th in Ypsilanti, Mi, on the campus of Eastern Michigan University.
I am willing to accept In Person, Virtual and Pre-Recorded presentations. If there is enough demand, I will have a poster session too.
In the past, we have had students and professionals present on Simulations of Local Environmental Systems, PCA in Chemometrics, Design of Experiments and Predictive Analytics.... among others.
I will be giving a talk on QC in the Chem Lab, which will call into question the results many of us use in medical and environmental data analysis.
I'll probably be giving a talk on how to increase the number of STEM students in College and University programs... using actual student level data from 4 local to me colleges and universities.
Let's bring proper statistical analysis to Chemistry Professionals.
For those of you that are interested in giving a talk and are NOT an ACS member, you can send me an email at
aekstrom@umich.edu, I can add your abstract manually.
For those that are interested in giving a talk, and are also ACS members, you can sign up and submit an abstract to the link below.
