    The Mathematics and Statistics Department at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona invites applications for a tenure-track position in statistics at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning in the 2022-2023 academic year. We are particularly interested in candidates with specialization in machine/statistical learning, statistical computing, statistical software development, Bayesian analysis, nonparametrics, time series, stochastic processes, or mathematical statistics. Strong candidates from other areas of statistics are also encouraged to apply.

    Cal Poly Pomona, home to 31,000 students and 1,400 faculty, is located 30 miles east of downtown Los Angeles and is one of 23 campuses in the California State University system. The department offers a BS and an MS in Mathematics, with emphases in Applied Mathematics and Statistics.

    Qualifications:
    • Possess at the time of appointment a Ph.D. in statistics or closely related area.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to actively engage in the teaching, research, and curricular development activities of the department at both undergraduate and graduate levels.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to contribute, teach, and engage in a multicultural environment with a diverse student body.
    • Ability to teach a broad range of statistics courses.
    • Ability to supervise Master's thesis work in statistics.
