Hi,
I am looking for a postdoc with expertise in survey research and interest in anti-racism and social justice. Please see the link and position description below.
Apply - Interfolio Position Description:
The NYU School of Global Public Health has established a new Center for Anti-racism,
Social Justice & Public Health (CASJPH). CASJPH is aligned with two key NYU
research and education priorities: (1) structural inequality and anti-racism and (2) public
health and health equity. Currently, we seek to recruit a postdoctoral associate to support
the activities of CASJPH under the mentorship of Dr. Melody Goodman.
The Center for Anti-racism, Social Justice & Public Health is undertaking a sweeping,
multifaceted transdisciplinary effort to build a science base that examines racism as a
social determinant of health and analyzes policies and social structures, such as
residential segregation, that have created racial inequities in education, healthcare,
criminal justice, social services, and other areas that can negatively impact health. The
CASJPH will advance innovative methods (including community/stakeholder
engagement and community based participatory research) and statistical techniques to
leverage the power of data to better address the myriad of issues impacting the health
of people of color and other marginalized populations in support of collaborative action
and concrete policy changes.
We are seeking a postdoctoral associate who will broaden and deepen our efforts in
advancing these goals by contributing to a portfolio of research initiatives with the
specific focus on advancing conceptual, methodological and empirical paradigms in
anti-racism, social justice and public health. In addition to educating and training the
next generation of academic leaders and public health practitioners in anti-racist praxis
and methods, we are interested in candidates whose research interests align with the
goals of CASJPH. Successful candidates will be expected to conduct original research
and/or collaborate with research teams across disciplines, publish peer reviewed papers
and seek extramural funding for their research program as needed. Additionally,
candidates should show a clear commitment to teaching masters and doctoral students.
Appointments are for two years, beginning in September 2021 and ending in August
2023. The associate will teach a maximum of one course per year, participate in school and
departmental activities, and have mentorship opportunities to prepare them for an
academic career.
