Dear Colleague,
I hope you all enjoyed JSM2020!
Planning for JSM 2021 is already in progress, and as the Program Chair for the Section on Statistical Computing, I am soliciting interest for JSM 2021 invited session proposals. Formats vary for invited sessions; however, all are 100+ minutes in length and have a session chair. The sessions typically include 2–3 speakers with a discussant or a panel discussion of 3–5 panelists. Please reference the call for invited sessions published in Amstat News: magazine.amstat.org/blog/2020/08/01/
The sessions will provide a highly visible platform for presenting the latest work at the interface of Statistics and Computing. The selection of invited session proposals is a competitive process due to the limited number of slots.
The theme of JSM 2021 is "Statistics, Data and the Stories They Tell" but sessions need not necessarily adhere to this theme. Both cutting edge and more established topics at the interface of Statistics and Computing are absolutely welcome.
Proposals need to be submitted via the online system between before September 8, 2020 (11:59 p.m. Eastern, 9:59 p.m. Pacific). Kindly see the instructions in the link below for more guidance on invited session proposal preparation and submission.

Note: Organizers can select up to three (3) potential sponsors for their proposal submissions. Section leadership will then determine which sessions will be accepted as the section's allocated sessions and which (if any) to enter into the ASA section competition.
If you encounter any problems with the online system, please contact Naomi Friedman at
naomi@amstat.org.
If you any additional questions or are interested in organizing a session, kindly contact me: pradeep.mohan at sas.com
Looking forward to your proposals.
