    Dear All,

To follow up Rafael's message, you can read more about the proposal to eliminate Puerto Rico's Independent Statistical Agency here: http://www.amstat.org/ASA/News/Puerto-Rico-Government-Considers-Eliminating-Statistical-Agency.aspx. This op-ed was also just posted to the Scientific American website: https://blogs.scientificamerican.com/voices/why-is-puerto-rico-dismantling-its-institute-of-statistics/

There have been reports that the Puerto Rico Senate may forego hearings and vote on the proposal on Wednesday. 1,140 people had signed the petition last I checked. I hope you will add your name to support objective and trustworthy statistics for Puerto Rico:https://www.change.org/p/puerto-rico-legislature-and-governor-ricardo-rosselló-put-the-facts-first-governor-rosselló-for-a-better-puerto-rico

    Best Wishes,
