CIE L.a.b Delta E 2000 calculations & optimization

    Hello, are you an expert in calculating CIE L.a.b "Delta E" using Year 2000 formula?

    What is the strategy to optimize those three constants KL, KC, KH? Some articles said 1 should be the default starting point for the process? What is your thought if I was to measure skin colors?

    Are there packages in R, or better yet, SAS macro already written I can use to test the outcomes?

    Please advise.
