I have been concerned about the greenhouse effect for over 40 years now. I agree that the conclusions about climate change belong under the domain of the climate scientists and that the models are complex. But I have done a little analysis of temperature and sunspot time series (see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_variation for why). The analyses are at my blog. Vanward Statistics. Also, for an introduction to some of the processes involved in climate change, you can go to a page at my website - Vanward Statistics - Climate Change . And I recommend Jim Hansen's book, Storms of my Grandchildren, for a good overview of the science and research.
There have been a number of explanations put forth on why the 10 year or so hiatus in the increase of global temperatures occurred. Temperatures looked to have been flat, but did not decrease. Most recently, a reanalysis of the data showed no hiatus. A good newsletter on ongoing climate change research is from Reporting Climate Science, at RCS Front .
