I'd like to announce a free webinar with a Q&A for our section members that will take place on April 19th from 1-2:30 EDT (10-11:30 PDT). We will be hosting Glen Wright Colopy for a discussion on navigating the current job market (more details below). This may be of special interest to graduating students, as well as current professionals who are looking for a change of scenery.

Title: How to Navigate the Job Market in Statistics/Data Science in 2021
Abstract: This free webinar is for students and professionals in the Section on Statistical Consulting who are seeking their first job or an upgrade to their job during this coming year. Glen Wright Colopy (host of the "Data & Science" podcast) will provide a short presentation on "6 Keys to the Data Science Job Search" followed by an open Q&A with the audience. Kim Love will moderate the discussion.
Topics will include:
- How to successfully play the numbers game when applying to jobs.
- What the booming data science market really means for job applicants.
- What to look for in your first data science job vs your second, third, etc..
- Listening to later career mentors: which advice to follow and which to ignore.
- Internships, turning your experiences into stories, and more!

About Glen: Glen Wright Colopy works in medical data science ranging from hospital patient monitoring to medical supply chains. He specializes in techniques such as time-series analysis, anomaly detection, and optimization. Glen received his doctorate (DPhil) from Oxford University and hosts the podcast "Data and Science with Glen Wright Colopy".
