    Hi All,

I have a colleague who works in Architecture and is hosting a conference in DC in several months.  As part of the conference, he wants to drive the discussion of using/collection/planning for data in modern architecture/building design.  I told him I love the idea, but have no background here to help!

Has anyone consulted in this area, or know a contact I may pass along?

I don't know much about it, but I have been in numerous seemingly poorly thought out modern architecture designs such as:

    • Many Open Plans (Everywhere)
    • Glass Office Walls so everyone can see everyone, and in locations which gets frequent foot traffic, which is very distracting.
    • A horribly bad pharmacy layout who when the computer system went down patients couldn't see what window to pick up their meds and works couldn't see patients and everyone was shouting at everyone else and it was utter chaos.
    • Terrible WiFi due to construction materials
    • Cables everywhere
    • Terribly acoustics
    • Poorly designed outside light coming in such that glare on computer screens is bad
    • Lack of shade outside
    • Lack of rain protection for bicycles
    • Terrible cafeteria/ bathroom locations
    • Terrible cafeteria and bathroom designs
    • Elevators which break every other day
    • Hidden stairways
    • Lack of ability to walk across the street due to roads/ barriers/ etc.
    • Ugliness galore

    Sincerely,

    Matthew Robinson
