Mentoring

The Mentoring Program of the Section on Teaching of Statistics in the Health Sciences (TSHS) aims to provide career advice and mentoring to help participants achieve their professional goals. Participants are matched with senior statisticians who have strong professional and training records in the biomedical/health sciences and who will serve as mentors.

This program may be useful to junior or mid-level statisticians who wish for broad professional guidance or just for advice on specific career issues (such as a change in career direction, ways to network, strategies to improve collaborations, etc.). A meeting between mentor and mentee is intended to take place during JSM, and further interactions may take place either in-person or via electronic means. For more details regarding the program, including suggested activities, as well as mentor and mentee roles and expectations, please see the introduction to the ASA/TSHS Mentoring Program.
