Heading to NCTM? Check out these great statistics talks and resources!

The National Council of Teachers of Mathematics’ Annual Meeting and Exposition starts tomorrow, Thursday, April 6. Are you going? There are a bunch of statistics talks and activities to check out!

Let’s start with the ASA booth that will be staffed by ASA Director of Education Rebecca Nichols and ASA K-12 Statistical Ambassador Chris Franklin. The booth number is #827 in the exhibit hall, which will be open Thursday and Friday, 8-5, and Saturday, 8-12. The booth is a great place to learn why AP Statistics is one of the top four AP STEM exams and how statistics is one of the fastest if not the fastest growing undergraduate majors. In addition to their passion for statistics, Rebecca and Chris will also have lots of teaching resources and ASA’s famous statistics-themed t-shirts, which are available in kids’ sizes, too!

Rebecca went through the NCTM online program and identified many talks each day that involved statistics. See her list below and let us know if we missed any or what you are excited about.

Chris also highlighted several talks that are discussed in a This is Statistics blog post.

We hope Rebecca and Chris will see you at NCTM to share the excitement and opportunities for statistics.
