NC ASA is in the process of developing and organizing new ways to connect statisticians through informal mentorships for insight and advice on career directions and opportunities. The mentoring initiative is meant for statisticians at all career levels.

2019 Events

Monday, May 13: LinkedIn and Your Professional Presence on Social Media -
Your professional presence on social media can help to create options and define your career path.  This mini-workshop will be presented by Sarah Egan Warren, Head of Technical Communication and April Wilson, Head of Career Services from NCSU's Institute for Advanced Analytics.  It will contain material from their Early Career Networking workshop and will include take-aways from Networking 101 plus guidelines for creating and using LinkedIn for networking purposes. To be hosted at SAMSI.  Registration details coming soon, with early registration for NC ASA and ASA members!

Developing 2018 - Student Peer Mentoring - Peer Mentoring is meant to provide students with a forum for open, honest discussion with other students in their discipline.  From questions about professional opportunities and career options, to which classes should I take, to how do I survive my qualifying exams, a peer mentor provides a personal connection in a confidential atmosphere.
