ASA at 175 – Annual Fund Drive

In the next few days, the ASA will launch its 2014 annual fund drive, hoping to improve on the record-setting success of last year’s drive.  There are many reasons members choose to support the ASA through contributions to the association, but a common theme is to give back to the profession and the association. There is much the ASA does to promote the practice and profession of statistics, and it can do much more with additional support.

Thus, members are invited during the annual fund drive to make a donation to further expand education, understanding and access to statistics worldwide. Member financial support of ASA activities makes a difference in many ways.  Here are a few:

These few examples illustrate how contributions—above and beyond your membership dues—helps to advance our field.  Donations go to work right away and have a significant impact on ASA’s ability to promote the practice and profession of statistics.  All gifts—small or large—help advance our profession.

Contributions to the Annual Fund can be made online or by mail.

  • Online contributions can be made securely at http://www.amstat.org/giving/index.cfm?fuseaction=annualfund
  • If you prefer to contribute by mail, make your check payable to “ASA” and send it to: ASA Annual Fund, 732 North Washington Street, Alexandria, VA 22314.
  • Your charitable donation is fully tax deductible.

The ASA is grateful for all the ways its members support the association.  I hope you’ll consider making a contribution to the ASA during its 175th anniversary celebration.

In 2014, the American Statistical Association is celebrating its 175th anniversary.  Over the course of this year, this blog will highlight aspects of that celebration, and look broadly at the ASA and its activities.  Please contact ASA Executive Director Ron Wasserstein (ron@amstat.org) if you would like to post an entry to this blog.
